Story
Fouad Mohammadi, born on August 23, 1980, was 42 years old when he was killed on November 15, 2022. He was the son of Esmaeil and Hajar. Fouad was married to Soheila and had two daughters, Vian (16 years old) and Zhivana (6 years old). He was originally from and resided in Mavian village, Kamyaran, Kurdistan province. Fouad was an athlete, passionate about football and mountaineering, and frequently visited the high mountains of Kurdistan, especially Kamyaran. He owned a mobile phone shop in Tejarat Passage.
With the onset of nationwide protests following the killing of Mahsa Zhina Amini, Fouad joined the demonstrations on the night of November 15, 2022. The streets were very crowded, and his compatriots were filled with fervor. At that moment, he posted a story, writing: "The street is roaring." Clashes with security forces began, and young people attacked a Basij base. The suppressive forces fired live ammunition at unarmed and defenseless people. Fouad was suddenly targeted, and eight bullets were fired at him. He fell to the street, severely wounded and covered in blood. People quickly took him to Kamyaran Hospital, but due to the severity of his injuries and heavy bleeding, he succumbed and passed away. Another young man named Saeed Mohammadi was also killed that night.
After Fouad's unjust killing, his family rushed to the hospital upon hearing the news. However, security forces, who had surrounded the hospital, not only denied them entry and refused to hand over his body but also fired pellet guns at his family, injuring five of them. His father, Esmaeil Mohammadi, his uncle Hassan Mohammadi, and his brothers Ahmad, Aram, and Khabat Mohammadi were among those injured. That night, his family and relatives gathered in front of the hospital, preventing the criminal regime from abducting and secretly burying his body. The presence of the people forced the authorities to admit his killing, though they did not take responsibility for the murder.
The day after, on November 16, 2022, a large gathering formed in front of Fouad's home, which was violently dispersed by suppressive forces, resulting in another young man, Borhan Karami, being hit by live ammunition and losing his life. Fouad's lifeless body was buried overnight on November 16, 2022, under pressure from security agencies. In his final message, Fouad stated: "Compatriot, I was a fighter whose heart beat for my oppressed and suffering compatriots. I stepped onto the path of struggle against the tyrannical regime to protest and sacrificed my life. Do not let my blood be in vain. Remember me and continue my path until the day of victory."
