Story
Kimia Moghadasi, born on August 24, 2002 (2 Shahrivar 1381), was a 20-year-old computer engineering student at the Islamic Azad University, South Tehran Branch. She was the daughter of Naser and a resident of Tehran, known for her love of poetry, music, and art.
Kimia was killed on October 25, 2022 (3 Aban 1401), during the nationwide protests that erupted after the killing of Mahsa Zhina Amini. She joined her fellow citizens in Tehran, specifically in the Gisha neighborhood, to demand freedom. During a rainy gathering, plainclothes agents attacked the crowd. One agent shot Kimia twice with a handgun, with bullets striking her heart and forehead. She fell to the ground and died on the street.
Following her death, government agents quickly removed her body and took it to the morgue, where her internal organs were reportedly removed. When her family learned of her killing and went to the morgue, they were severely threatened and pressured by officials not to file a complaint. They were instructed to declare her cause of death as a heart attack, otherwise, her body would not be released. Under duress, her family complied and remained silent.
Kimia Moghadasi's lifeless body was buried on October 27, 2022 (5 Aban 1401), in Behesht-e Zahra, Section 504, Row 166, Number 40, under heavy security. In a posthumous message, she identified herself as one of the unknown victims, stating that she fought for her own freedom, for her fellow citizens, and for a better life, sacrificing her youth and aspirations. She urged others not to let her blood be in vain and to continue her path towards victory.
