Mojtaba Tarshiz was a former professional footballer who played for several Iranian clubs, including Nassaji Mazandaran, Tractor Tabriz, Fajr Sepasi Shiraz, and Mes Kerman.
He was killed in January 2026 during Iran’s National Uprising. Reports indicate that he was shot directly by the Islamic Republic’s security forces in Shahrek-e Andisheh, Tehran. Tragically, he was killed by a bullet after he threw himself in front of his wife to shield her during the shooting.
Mojtaba Tarshiz is recognized as one of the prominent footballers who lost their lives during the January 2026 protests in Iran.
