Maryam Loghmani was a 27-year-old artist who was killed during protests on January 8, 2026. Her family searched for her for days after she went missing. The last time her father spoke to her, she told him, "My eyes are burning from the tear gas." and "I’ve been shot in the leg." Her phone then went silent. Days later, her family found her body in a morgue.
Her body showed severe injuries, including a torn lip, broken teeth, a deep wound to her throat, and a bullet wound to her leg. Maryam was known for her love of painting, creating videos, and feeding animals, even during challenging times. She participated in the protest on January 8, but tragically, she never returned home.
