Abbasali Ramezani was born in 1951 in Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan province. He lived for 74 years.
He was a political prisoner in the 1980s and had a history of several security arrests. In one instance, he was arrested to serve a sentence of three years and seven months. This sentence was issued by the Mashhad Revolutionary Court on charges of financial support for families of political prisoners and propaganda against the system.
Ramezani was killed on January 8, 2026, during popular protests in Mashhad. He was shot by direct bullet fire from government forces while participating in the protests, notably wearing an electronic ankle monitor used for prisoner control.
