Biography

Araz Salimian, born in 1377 (Jalali calendar), was a 27-year-old law student and hairdresser from Chalus. He was the only child of his family and supported his mother.

He was killed on January 8, 2026 (Dey 18, 1404 Jalali), in Chalus. According to Hirkani Human Rights Media, Araz died at the hands of suppressors of the Islamic Republic due to a bullet wound to the throat. Forces positioned on top of bank buildings had opened fire on people, and Araz was struck by a military round to the throat, losing his life.

Following his death, his mother searched for his body from approximately 9 PM until 8 AM the next morning, finally locating him after hours of uncertainty. She later mourned at his tomb, and a video showed her crying beside his grave and saying, "You live in the heart of a living Iran." She also expressed her profound grief with agonizing words, "Araz, when you were taking your last breaths, how many times did you call for me? Forgive me for coming too late, my son." A poignant message was also shared on social media by a user named "بال پروانه" (Bal Parvaneh), echoing his mother's sorrow: "Araz, this is the first time I'm late. I'm late, Mom, forgive me." These expressions highlight the deep personal impact of his death on his loved ones.
