Arsham Ebrahimi, born on February 9, 1999, was the only son of Behnam. He resided in Isfahan and was a first-year dentistry student. To support himself, he also worked at a fire extinguisher refilling company. His father and uncle were veterans and prisoners of war from the Iran-Iraq War; his father served as a brigade commander in the Isfahan division and fought for four years without leave. Arsham was known among his university friends for his calm demeanor, intelligence, and strong ethical principles.
The nationwide protests began in November 2019 following a sudden increase in gasoline prices. On November 16, 2019, Arsham was returning from work when he encountered crowded streets, making it impossible to drive home. His father called and instructed him to abandon his car and walk. As he was walking towards home, near Robat Bridge and a Basij base, a police officer shot him twice from behind, hitting him in the head and abdomen. Arsham Ebrahimi died instantly at the age of 20.
Following his death, government agents seized Arsham's body. His family became worried after 7:30 PM when he stopped answering his phone and searched everywhere, but he was nowhere to be found. The agents initially denied any knowledge of his whereabouts. However, once security forces realized who his father was, his father, dressed in military uniform, went to the police headquarters. After four days, Arsham's body was returned to his family on the condition that his death would not be publicized and no public funeral ceremony would be held. On a rainy night, at 9 PM, four intelligence agents forced his family to bury him immediately, preventing them from saying their final goodbyes or kissing his forehead. His lifeless body was laid to rest in Behesht-e Zeinab Baboukan in Isfahan.
A memorial service was held on November 22, 2019, at the Grand Mosque of Isfahan and at his grave. The seventh-day ceremony took place on November 28, 2019, but security forces summoned and threatened his sister, Armita, at the Isfahan intelligence office. The fortieth-day ceremony was held on December 26, 2019, where his family invited the public for support. During the ceremony, his father stated, “You took my only son. Did we find our children on the street? Your children live abroad, and you kill ours?”
Arsham's family filed a complaint regarding his unjust killing, but it yielded no results. Despite promises from the governor, his killer was never arrested or punished; no one resigned, was dismissed, or prosecuted. Instead, security forces called his father and offered him
