Aria Honarmand was a 27-year-old Iranian rapper and composer who resided in Shahrak-e Gharb, Tehran. He was known for his protest songs against the Islamic regime. On January 5, 2026 (15 Dey), he released a song titled "Freedom" on his Instagram account.
On January 8, 2026 (18 Dey 1404), Aria Honarmand participated in the national uprising of the Iranian people. He traveled to the Naziabad neighborhood in Tehran to join the protesters. During the demonstrations, he was directly shot by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic regime with live ammunition and died there. Sources described his death as a "crime against humanity."
Aria Honarmand's name is remembered as one of the young people who sought freedom and paid the ultimate price for it.
