Alireza Raisi, a 21-year-old protester, was arrested by intelligence forces on January 20, 2026, after attending a memorial ceremony for Ramin Raisi in Bagh-e Rezvan, Isfahan. He was among those arrested in the wave of detentions that occurred in December 2025 and January 2026. Following his arrest, agents searched his home and prevented his family from inquiring about him.
He was subsequently held in Dastgerd Prison. During a recent visit, signs of severe beating, extensive bruising, bleeding in his eye, and marks of electric shock were observed on his body.
According to reports, Alireza Raisi was executed by the Islamic Republic of Iran after obtaining forced confessions and holding a rushed trial. The video captures Alireza Raisi's last phone call from Dastgerd Prison to his father, just hours before his execution. During this heartbreaking conversation, Alireza asked his father to take care of his mother and children, saying, “Take care of my mom and the kids.” He expressed his love, “I love you,” and asked for forgiveness, “Forgive me.” His father, in turn, asked for Alireza's forgiveness, lamenting, “You forgive me. There’s nothing I can do for you, baba.” Alireza affirmed his pride in his father, “Baba, I’m proud of you. Always proud of you,” to which his father responded with mutual pride, “I’m also proud of you, baba.” Alireza’s final plea was, “Just be pleased with me,” and his father reassured him, “We are all pleased, baba. You be pleased with us.” In a moment of despair, Alireza cried, “What can I do, baba? They want to take my life from me.” His father tried to comfort him, saying, “God is great,” and Alireza added, “God is just.” He also asked his father to convey his regards to Ramin Raisi’s father, Javid, and to tell him, “I’m thinking of Ramin.”
Alireza Raisi was executed on Monday morning, October 5, 2026, along with Alireza Sepahi, in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan, just hours after this final call.
Social media videos and images of him have been published, including a video showing his grave in the deserts of Anarak County in Isfahan province.
