Behnam Khajaviniya, a 20-year-old student, was originally from Dezful but had moved to Dehagh, Isfahan, for work. He was killed on January 9, 2026 (19 Dey 1404), during the Iran Lion and Sun Revolution in Isfahan. Reports indicate that he was shot directly in the head with live ammunition by forces of the Islamic Republic regime and died at the scene.
Following his death, his family was instructed to provide identification and documents to retrieve his body. However, by the time they returned, his body had been transferred to Najafabad. Authorities then demanded 700 million Tomans for the return of his body. His mother was compelled to obtain a local affidavit from residents to attest to her inability to pay the exorbitant fee. His body was eventually returned to his family after six days, late at night.
