Azin Fereyduni, born in 1364 (Shamsi calendar), was a 40-year-old woman and mother of a 9-year-old child. She was killed during protests in Andisheh, Shahriar. A video released later showed her performing the song "Makhloogh" by Googoosh.
She died on January 9, 2026. According to some reports, she was shot directly by government forces with two military rounds to her chest. Other accounts state that she was hit by pellet gunfire from close range, with pellets striking her heart and lungs. Her companions were also reportedly hit by pellets. She was shot around 9:00 PM in Phase One of Andisheh and died at 10:00 PM in Nour-e Shahriar Hospital in Shahriar.
Her body was later found on Sunday in Kahrizak and was buried on Tuesday. Her memory is cherished by those who knew her, with one relative expressing, "Azin! Nothing can calm me anymore. What can I do to get you to act like yourself one more time?" She is remembered as a child of Iran, whose name will remain in hearts and be engraved in the memory of her city.
