Azita Kianpour was born on September 21, 1975. She was a midwife and was officially employed in Abadan. However, due to her unwillingness to wear a chador, she was dismissed from her job. After her dismissal, she migrated to Tehran and started working in a private hospital.
Azita also worked at Yas Hospital and Resalat Hospital, which was a government hospital and whose head was introduced as Dr. Dastjerdi, Ahmadinejad's former minister. It is said that many children of government officials were born in this hospital. Azita had disagreements with Dr. Dastjerdi.
In November 2022, Azita participated in a conference in Tehran on the topic of the childbearing plan, which was held with the presence of the Minister of Health. As the first speaker, she expressed her protest and said: “First, fix the economy! What hope do people have to have children? Out of every 6 deliveries I perform, 2 are Iranian and 4 are Afghan…” Her words led subsequent speakers to make similar statements. After this event, Azita Kianpour was introduced as a “leader”.
About a week after the conference, Azita felt unwell after returning home from the hospital. She lay down to rest and was later found deceased with blood coming from her nose and foam from her mouth. It is claimed that she was poisoned and killed with arsenic in her tea at the hospital. Azita Kianpour died on November 26, 2022 at the age of 47. She was married and had a twelve-year-old son named Abtin. She was buried alongside her brothers, Adel and Amin Kianpour, in the family cemetery of Bahramabad village, on the outskirts of Masjed Soleyman. Her fortieth-day ceremony coincided with the first anniversary of her brother Adel's killing on December 29, 2022.
