Ainaz Rahimi Hajiabadi, a 13-year-old girl, was born in 2012 and hailed from Hajiabad village in Najafabad, Isfahan province. She was a student, an athlete, a nail technician, and a good painter, known as the youngest immortal of Najafabad. On her room wall, she had written about "the world," a world she was too young to fully know and which she was forced to see its cruelest face too soon.
On the evening of January 8, 2026, Ainaz's life was ended by a bullet. The death certificate recorded the cause of death as a bullet impact and severe damage to internal organs. According to reports, Ainaz was struck by a bullet that hit her from behind, initially striking her shoulder before piercing her heart, leading to her death.
Her family endured significant pain and suffering before they were able to retrieve her body a week after her death. Her brother recounted the tragedy, stating, *“Her schoolbag still smelled of new notebooks.” *Ainaz was laid to rest in Hasanabad, Najafabad.
Thirteen years old should be the beginning of knowing the world, not the end of life in the streets. Ainaz Rahimi Hajiabadi, a child whose opportunity to grow up was taken from her, is remembered as one of Najafabad's heroes, and the community showed their support by participating enthusiastically in the 40th-day ceremony held for the victims of Najafabad. Her name remains eternal in the memory of Iran.
